Goals and Hopes
Reflecting on my life and professional experiences, I've always been involved in the community and in situations that involve working for social change and opportunties for those from small communities. I feel that these programs and roles have prepared me to have an open minded perspective and a worldly view on society. Most of us live our lives in small boxes concerned with our private lives and very seldom to we come together unless a massive political shift occurs or some kind of big event. I don't want to spend my life just closed up worrying about bills, having limited freedom for the rest of my life, or just being stuck in one location. The world is a huge place and I believe we should be able to fully enjoy life and pursue our goals and purpose.
The Three Phases
I layed out my plans for the future and a timeline of when I plan on accomplishing these goals. My plan involves three phases.
- Phase 1: Career
- Phase 2: Business/Finance/Investing
- Phase 3: Policical Career
Phase 1 Involves my career. Information Technology will be central to my platform in business, community and politics. I will consider myself a technologist who will utilze that to help improve the lives of people and infrastructures - such as buildings, roads, bridges.
Phase 2 will involve spear heading the business field. While I work gaining experience in my technology career in the professional world, I will work on multiple projects to extend my range and experience. I plan on diving into real estate to learn how to be a realtor and a broker. I will take the time to study investing and the stock market. I plan on studying Warren Buffets investment strategies and reading books about business and finance. The end goal is reaching financial stability and using the money to invest in appreciating assets.
Phase 3 will focus on leadership development. First, my focus will be on a small scale, I plan on involving myself in politics as a representative to understand the commmunity and become more intimate with the people I grew up with my fostering good relations with them and helping out as much as possible. The goal here is not only to gain support but to improve my skills socially to grow as a leader. Second, I plan on moving up the political world, I know this area can be very controversial however I think change can be implemented through this platform. The challenge for me will be staying true to my character and being there for the people. Money can corrupt and the only way to balance one self is to be in pursuit of a purpose that is of benefit to society.
